Get More Client Testimonials!
Whether you’re buying a new pair of shoes or a new website, what is the first thing you normally do before purchasing? Research. Most consumers search online for other customer reviews before they actually buy the product. Testimonials are huge and very, very powerful! If a client posts that your product isn’t what you say it is, then a future customer will most likely question whether to make the purchase. Client Testimonials provide a huge amount of trust.
The hardest part of client testimonials is getting them!
People are very quick to their feet to write a bad testimonial, but getting someone to post a good one takes a little work. Even though your clients are extremely happy with your services, it usually doesn’t occur to them how valuable a testimonial is. You are most likely going to have to reach out to them. When it comes to reviews about your company, the consumers are ultimately in control, not you!
Where to start (things you can do)-
- Feature some of your clients who have already posted testimonials. Post them on your social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. Don’t let the good comments and testimonials disappear. Post them and show how happy clients are with your services! People love to get shout outs, period.
- Ask your clients to write testimonials. If they are happy with your product/services, ask them to take a couple minutes to write a review. Odds are they will since it’s a personal request. If you never bring it up then you’re most likely not going to get the testimonials you want. A little push always helps. Whatever you do, do not bribe them. If you know they are happy, simply ask. It’s that easy.
- Make videos. Video testimonials can be extremely powerful! Make sure to have engaging questions that guide the client to express exactly what they like and how it’s working for them. You really can’t get a testimonial better than this. The client is directly on camera and the words are directly from them.
What to do with a bad review-
Hopefully you don’t get any bad reviews but if you do… Approach them with care. Do NOT be rude or tell them they are wrong. First and foremost, thank them for their business and their feedback.
Whether you are right or wrong, apologize- it will help your business in the long run. Be professional, anything you write online can be very easily shared and you don’t want a bad reputation for arguing with a customer. Simply apologize, offer a possible solution, and move on.
You don’t have to have hundreds of testimonials, just a collection of clients and what they like about your product/services. Future clients will appreciate the fact that they can find this information when making a decision to purchase. This can GREATLY help your business.
