.For all in the Insurance, Mortgage, and Real Estate industry, set aside time to work on your web presence. This is very, very important. Lots of business professionals don’t realize how important it is to implement new marketing strategies into what they already have going. Even 2-3 hours a week will greatly improve your results. Ever heard “out of sight, out of mind”? Make yourself present and easy to find via all social media platforms. How many times a day do you do a Google search? Most people these days that are looking for a restaurant to eat at always Google it first to find out about it. Works the same way with business professionals. Make yourself known!
.Make sure your website is specifically set up for your target market. What is the point of having a website if it is basically an online business card? Great, you have a website but why have it if it’s not set up to convert leads? If you are not seeing business coming from your website, then it is almost useless. Your website should be set up specifically for the type of business you’re doing. Also, quality content is important. Keeping your website material fresh and new helps to keep visitors coming back. Also, make sure you have all of your social media links added to your website.
.Sharing and participating in all of your social media accounts. The 80/20 rule is great to remember. 80% of your posts should not be a sales pitch or business related. People are going to get tired of seeing them and unfollow you. The more interesting and locally relevant things you post, the more they will want to see from you. If you sponsor a charity or have a favorite restaurant in the area, post it! Show them you are the local expert. If you just sold someone a house from a different state, they are going to come to you when they need information within the new area.
.Staying in front of your past clients. This is HUGE. Make contact with them multiple times a year. Whether it is automatic or personally reaching out to them, do it. If they forget about you or you lose contact, then that’s one less referral coming your way. Again, this is where the 80/20 rule comes in. Instead of sending out market trend emails, (the 80%) they already know you are an expert, send out advice for them (the 20%). Such as, events coming up in your city or restaurants in your neighborhood that you know they would like. This will make you much more credible and build even more trust with them.
.Go Mobile. If your website isn’t set up for people to look at on a mobile device, you are missing out on a ton of business! According to comStore, mobile devices accounted for 55% of Internet usage in the United States in January of this year.
