5 Reasons You Should Attend Trade Shows

Recently 220 Marketing has been attending trade shows just about every month. Not only are they extremely  beneficial, but they are FUN! As exhibitors, we see and meet hundreds of people at each convention and of course they are in the industry that we are targeting.

Trade shows are being put on for YOU-the consumers. They are meant for you to walk around and talk to exhibitors who have the latest and greatest products and services out there. They would not be there if there wasn’t a mutual relationship that will benefit your business. Your job is to figure out which one will help you the most. Before you attend, evaluate your business and figure out what you really need help with. Do you need more marketing to enhance your personal branding? Or do you need someone to show you how to increase your business using the internet? There are several things you know you need to put in place but haven’t gotten around to it. Now is your chance to really set aside some time and piece together what is missing. GO NETWORK.

But why should YOU as a visitor attend trade shows?

1. Get Immediate Answers- Trade shows are made for networking and communicating. No waits, no telephone holds, face-to-face conversations only. Vendors and exhibitors in your industry are there at your convenience to answer any questions you may have.

2. Educate Yourself- There are seminars and classes you can attend to further educate yourself on your business. The events that take place at trade shows allow you to get in front of more people and allow your creative thinking to take over and help support your business. Utilizing these educational opportunities not only helps to grow your business but to better support your current clients.

3. Networking- Meet hundreds of people in the same industry and find out what they’re doing to be successful. Also, being present allows you to easily find out what your competition is doing to reel in new business. Industry contacts are extremely important!

4. Learn About New Products- The knowledge here is unlimited. Exhibitors are there to show you the newest products and trends that are helping companies to grow their business. Your attendance alone will payoff.

5. New Business Opportunities- You never know who you’re going to meet. Exhibitors know a lot more people than you think and can always point you in the right direction. Take your time and stop by the booths to see what everyone has to offer. These are all people of your targeted audience- take advantage while you can!

Trust me, trade shows are not all work. They are fun and usually involve lots of food, alcohol, and good people. Following the trade show is usually a reception in which the best networking takes place.
